This little boy was born in a hard period of time and he was put in a family of germanys so he was thought to have a great life but even in a germany home he and his mom still suffered the horrors of the holocaust and had to see thing that no person should ever have to see or go through.
Sad that we cannot always see what children see. They could teach us to be kind to one another. Good movie! Difficult to watch though.
Very well done. A difficult, but, must see film. It is best to know as little of possible about the story before you see the movie.
I really want to see it
Movie would have been better if it followed the book more :) Very sad... but very touching.
not my kind of film, it was all about the holocaust
A very good movie with a heartbreaking story.
Sad movie. Good acting with a somewhat predictable story line. Nevertheless, it provokes examination and discussion of childhood innocence, friendship, brainwashed racism, and many other important social and cultural issues.
I just finished reading the book, all I can say is Woah! Sad that we as a race, have been, in the past, and still, in today's present, so cruel, and purposefully so. When we are young, sheltered and innocent, we start off as kind, and caring, we don't know how to be mean, or evil, where did we start to learn it all from, and why do we continue to be so? This story is a perfect telling of innocence. Really it is. I highly recommend the reading of it. I will watch the film, and hope that it puts across as much as the written words do.
If only we stopped and looked at things through the eyes of our children! What innocence and truth we would find. All hatred is taught. A haunting film.
