Add a CommentThis wonderful piece of literature contains awesome poems and great illustrations to bring this book alive. The author brings this mysterious poem book to life with all the different animals and the wonderful nature they live in. I would definitely utilize this book as a good source in my classrooms to introduce poems to my students.
I recommend this book because it portrays the animal life that comes to life at night and how all living things have a place with a purpose. I love the illustrations in this book because shows a world beyond our imagination merging the poems with each of the illustration. The animals are giving a unique personality by the author and that brings the ecosystem of this fauna to be appreciated in great detail. The poems are wonderful and encourage the reader to submerge in this dark, mysterious life.
“Dark Emperor & Other Poems of the Night” is a children’s poetry book. This picture book is full of beautiful pictures filled with even lovelier poems. These poems are about different animals and nature. On the other side of the poems there is a section that explains the nature of the poem that was presented beforehand. It give you different background information and I feel it helps you better understand the poem. When I become a teacher I look forward to introducing poetry to my students and making it realistic like this book. I recommend this book for teachers and parents to read to their children. This will help kids learn to appreciate poetry at an earlier age.
