I've always had a problem with Kings, Queens and the Monarchy as a whole. In my honest opinion, they have a laundry of secrets that no one knows about, but people continue pledging their allegiance to them. Why? Because historically it's been passed on? So have a lot of things that are frowned upon.

This man's brother was a terrible choice to be King making fun of him and his stuttering, and what he did was make fun of the older gentleman that was helping him out; extremely poor taste to be in line for the throne?

And the wife's gall to go to the older gentleman incognito but want to be addressed, as Your Royal Highness. Get off your high horse sweetheart and come back to reality. Your husband has a speech impediment that hasn't pardoned royalty.

I don't think it merits all the echelons it received and personally I didn't like it.

"The King's Speech" is an amazing story and it is all true. Colin Firth gives a great performance as the King George VI of Britain. The movie shows what can be done with determination. It is certainly an inspiring story and well worth taking home for your family.

This movie is somewhat overrated and includes some historical inaccuracies. Some scenes are a bit degrading to the memory of King George VI. But the cinematography is very good and the performances by Firth and Carter are excellent.

Perfect in every way. Considering the garbage that is produced from Hollywood, it's amazing a film of such excellence got through to the public. And thank goodness for that. Colin Firth is brilliant and touching as the king. Also loved seeing Derek Jacobi in a small role; loved him in Cadfael. A must-see for anyone who appreciates quality cinema.

Outstanding movie. Quite a bit of coarse language in a couple of parts. But overall 5/5 stars. Helena Bonham-Carter, and Firth's acting were absolutely superior.

inspiring story of learning to rise to the occasion, commitment, friendship ... on the technical side, the reproduction of historical scenes to look like they were produced at that time. just wonderful!

I saw the movie and I had liked it
this is based on a true story but not
for children to watch

Coarse Language: There is quite a bit of coarse language but it isn't used against anyone. It is simply stated...it makes sense in context nevertheless be prepared as it comes up every once in a while.

Coarse Language: lots of it in one part

Coarse Language: Lionel encourages Berty to swear, let the anger out and especially at one point there is ALOT of swearing. Sometimes Berty will be practicing reading and break out in the F word or the S word, it's kinda weird and semi-desterbing but it's still a good movie.
