Enjoyed this movie. I didn't think i would like it as much as i did. I was happily surprised. I was excited when the sequel came out, but dissapointed in its execution. Watch this one but not the sequel.

Despite being made by the creators of the "Saw" movies, This horror film is a more of a throwback to old-school 'haunted house' and other horror sub-genres of yesteryear. The beginning feels a lot like 'Poltergeist' but the fun and the scares really kick in as the story shifts in surprising other directions. Not particularly gory or gross, but lots of well-placed jump scares and a very creepy looking villain. Some clever twists on familiar horror tropes from the 70's and '80's

Hobgoblins plague nondescript family.
Goofy ghostbusters try to save them.
One of the silliest films you'll ever see.
Utterly foolish and boring.
Should have been named "Insipidness".

I rented this movie twice on accident because I forgot I had rented it before. 'Nuff said.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. It falls apart a bit in the final act, but the director is skilled at taking a plot that has done countless times, and makes it fresh with great style and cinematography.

(Seriously if you haven't seen Poltergeist, watch it to see a very different style of a film on practically the same exact plot)

I think this is a fantastic horror movie. I always liked horror movies, but it depends what kind is it, and how good is it. When I see horror movies, I want to it to not be predictable, and to make it real as If something like this happen in real life. It gave me good scares, instersting plot, wasn't predictable, and seemed so real. For me a horror movie has to be supenseful, nail- biting, and haunting me for the night before I go to bed. i couldn't stop thinking about it. I loved it! I can't wait for part two !! Five stars. P.S The actors including the little boy are amazing, and there's a really scary scene in the middle of the movie that makes you jump. 8)

Very very very good. This movie made me jump a couple of times and its creepy. A must see.

Overall, this was a good horror flick but some of the most important scenes needed better lighting. I especially like the ending.

I felt this 'horror' movie was... average. Nothing spectacular. Scariest part was Tiny Tim singing 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips'.
