Add a CommentI was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. It falls apart a bit in the final act, but the director is skilled at taking a plot that has done countless times, and makes it fresh with great style and cinematography. (Seriously if you haven't seen Poltergeist, watch it to see a very different style of a film on practically the same exact plot)
I think this is a fantastic horror movie. I always liked horror movies, but it depends what kind is it, and how good is it. When I see horror movies, I want to it to not be predictable, and to make it real as If something like this happen in real life. It gave me good scares, instersting plot, wasn't predictable, and seemed so real. For me a horror movie has to be supenseful, nail- biting, and haunting me for the night before I go to bed. i couldn't stop thinking about it. I loved it! I can't wait for part two !! Five stars. P.S The actors including the little boy are amazing, and there's a really scary scene in the middle of the movie that makes you jump. 8)
Very very very good. This movie made me jump a couple of times and its creepy. A must see.
Overall, this was a good horror flick but some of the most important scenes needed better lighting. I especially like the ending.
I felt this 'horror' movie was... average. Nothing spectacular. Scariest part was Tiny Tim singing 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips'.
i personally think this movie is soo scary. there should be a lart 2
Insidious was a good movie. Watched it in the dark. Which made it more scary. This was not my intention, however!
Not bad, especially considering the schlock horror garbage coming out of Hollywood recently, this film is refreshing in it's subtlety. The filmmakers created a lot of tension and the climax is slightly surprising. It does borrow from 'Poltergeist' with a little Kubrick's 'The Shining' thrown in, it's blessedly not gory or violent. Though there's perhaps 1 to many 'jump out at you' moments just to keep the scariness quality afloat and at times it's a bit silly. But for horror fans, this is a decent diversion to hold you over until the next good movie is released or until you break out your own classic collection of movies that fit the genre.
Pretty darn good horror/possession movie. Slightly different twist than the usual. The ending was ill conceived and didn't work for me, but the entire first 2/3 of the flick hummed along and were legitimately creepy. Could have been better, but had some real scares and kept my attention throughout.
this movie is so amiazing i love it esspecially the part when the guy is fighting with the witchy kindof girl
